An earthquake of 7.8 magnitude occurred in Turkey on February 6, 2023 at around 4.15 am.
Its center was in Gaziantep area.
There have reportedly been hundreds of casualties, though the exact death toll is still unknown. Dozens of buildings have collapsed.
A gasoline pipeline explosion caused numerous fires to start.
There is destruction in Syria as well, which is close to the border with Gaziantep..

Another significant earthquake of 7.5 magnitudes occurred after the 7.8 earthquake. This made people fearful.
